Attorney Kiah D. Spinks is originally from the state of New Jersey but primarily grew up in New Castle, Delaware. Ms. Spinks is a proud HBCU graduate and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD, and her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law (“NCCU Law”) in Durham, NC. Upon graduation from Morgan State University, she moved to Northern Virginia where she currently resides.
In fulfilling her passion and dream of practicing law, Ms. Spinks established Spinks Law PLLC in June 2013. Ms. Spinks’s primary practice focuses on landlord-tenant, traffic, criminal law to include both misdemeanors and felonies for adults and juveniles. She also does family law to include divorce, custody, visitation, and support. Additionally, she has done breach of contract cases on the General District Court level. Ms. Spinks has handled numerous cases over the past seven years to include several jury trials and many bench trials. Her most recent jury trial was a 2nd Degree murder case in the midst of a pandemic that resulted in a hung jury.
Ms. Spinks is a proud member of the Virginia State Bar, Prince William County Bar Association, the Northern Virginia Black Attorneys Association -board member, the Old Dominion Bar Association- executive board member; the Prince William County Bar Foundation- Board member; Ms. Spinks is a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she serves as the Church Clerk, Ms. Spinks is a member of the Old Dominion Chapter of The Links, Incorporated where she chairs two committees; Ms. Spinks is a member of the Northern Virginia Alumni Chapter of Morgan State University and Ms. Spinks is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated where she participates in numerous community service activities throughout Prince William County. Last but certainly not least in her spare time, Ms. Spinks enjoys reading and vacationing at the beach.
